OBJECTIVE

To wash and drying of all guest personal laundry items and the maintaining of all of the Hotel linens as well as assisting the operation by ensuring the continued high levels of quality are continued through good service and professionalism.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• To operate the following machinery within the laundry in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company health and safety guidelines.
• Washing machine
• Extracting Machine
• Tumble dryers
• Steam press machines
• Steam Iron
• Hand use domestic iron
• Flat iron machines (both industrial and commercial)
• Garment tagging machines
• Electrical scales
• Spotting Table
• Chemical Dispenser and the Decoder
• Handle the folding, packing and delivery of guest Laundry, linens and uniforms.
• Prepare items for delivery, arranging them in proper order to facilitate faster delivery.
• Pick-up and deliver all guest laundry ensuring that there is proper identification of each item on the guest list and if for any reason this is not possible, that the Supervisor is informed as early as possible for action.
• Ensure that all linen is placed on shelves / racks and is ready for distribution
• Deliver clean linen from the Laundry to the housekeeping pantries and arrange them in proper order and ensure issued items are logged.
• Collect and receive soiled linen from housekeeping pantries and other outlets and ensure proper count and record of the items
• Make a record of all articles found within the garments and enter in the “Lost and Found” log and inform to the Laundry Supervisor for recording.
• Iron chair covers, Uniforms and inform Supervisor of any repair or adjustment to be done.
• To ensure proper use of chemicals within the laundry operation in accordance with company guidelines and procedures established by Housekeeping Department
• To be responsible for washing process of Guest Laundry from the time of receipt and until it is delivered to the guest room (collection, tagging, washing, drying, ironing and presentation
• Receiving, Issuing and Washing of all the staff linen, uniforms and personal laundry ensuring cleanliness, correct pressing and folding practices are adopted and that care is taken to ensure no damage.
• To respect and process any additional/relative work and responsibilities assigned by the Laundry Supervisor and Executive Housekeeper.
