Assistant Reservations Manager
Job Description:
OBJECTIVE
Champion the reservations operation process in the resort. Lead cross functional decision making of all reservations function including Sales & Marketing, Rooms, Spa and Food & Beverage departments. Responsible for competitive intelligence and facilitate strategic competitive practices through scientific decision support tools. Develop online inventory campaigns and ensure that channels and content are in line with the e-commerce objective and distribution guidelines.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Administration skills
•To coordinate office activities to ensure work updates are consistently maintained and all correspondence promptly handled on the same day received.
•To take charge of special requests and any problems that may arise within the department on a day-to-day basis.
•To develop and maintain efficient filing system of all correspondence for easy access and retrieval.
2.Forecasting
•To be able to recommend revenue maximization strategies an accurate forecasting mechanism has to be developed and applied.
•Be involved in the yearly budget process
Ensure that denials (turndowns from the hotel site) for room, outlet seats and spa treatment rooms are properly tracked to determine an unconstrained demand forecast.
3.Availability and Inventory Management
•To develop and communicate strategies to optimally sell the constrained inventory of rooms and outlets.
•Monitor rate availability and inventory available for sale in relation to expected demand versus supply of hotel and market
•Monitor overselling and ensure that forced upgrades are minimized.
•Review wholesale allotment contract and materialization as part of overall business mix optimization strategy.
•Determine and monitor the availability release policy to ensure total hotel revenue is maximized.
4.Resort Revenue Opportunity & Yield
•Devise and recommend the resort pricing strategy based on demand forecast, competitive situation and inventory availability.
•Determine optimum length of stay restrictions to maximize revenue over time if demand exceeds supply.
•To ensure that hurdle rates / restrictions are applicable in all channels
5.Project Planning
•To determine and recommend strategies to price optimally and maximize revenues and profits for various departments
•Review competitive information reports for benchmarking against competitive set
•Identify opportunities for higher total revenue and profit per customer stay, cross-selling opportunities, value added packages, etc.
6.Online Marketing
•Review web booking engine content (rate descriptions) to ensure accuracy and written in accordance to the corporate standards and informs E-commerce department to make changes where necessary
•Ensures that hotel is not distributed in non-endorsed website identified from best rate guarantee claims and advises the Director of marketing to take appropriate action where necessary
•Takes the appropriate action if identifies inaccurate content information on approved 3rd party websites.
7.Oral and written communication skills
•To communicate strategy recommendations effectively and efficiently.
•Communicate strategy to relevant departments and monitor implementation
QUALIFICATION
•Complete degree/diploma in Hospitality or related industry.
•Computer literate. (MS office, Opera)
EXPERIENCE
•Five years working experience in luxury hotel/resort or tourism related industry.
•In depth knowledge in Opera Operation & Reports
•Min 3 years in Manager position in Reservation department or Revenue or relevant department

• Subject to the fact that you may from time to time be expected to work outside normal hours in order to meet reporting deadlines and take full responsibility of the department thereby extending his/her support whenever needed.
