Job Description:

OBJECTIVE

Responsible for achieving occupancy targets/levels as identified in the annual budget and marketing plan for Reservations. The Revenue & Reservations Manager will work closely with the Sales and Events Teams to develop future and repeat business opportunities. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Computer literate. (MS office), Opera/Maestro PMS

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in revenue management, reservations, in a similar role within the hospitality environment.
  • Strong track record in developing and executing revenue strategies that deliver measurable results.
  • Thorough knowledge of revenue management systems, and online distribution channels.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, train, and motivate a multicultural team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
  • High level of commercial awareness and understanding of market trends, competitor analysis, and customer segmentation.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Sales Team to maximize corporate and group rates.
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of Kandima Maldives and manage the departments' adherence to achieving that strategy.
  • Oversee the key duties of Assistant Reservations Manager & Reservations Supervisors.
  • Ensure all e-mail boxes are attended on timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure Website Chats & WhatsApp messages were replied on time without any delay.
  • Ensure all telephone calls are answered within three rings with correct greetings as per telephone answering standard.
  • Understand the competitive marketplace and implement approaches to ensure Kandima Maldives stays ahead in the local market.
  • Ensure Team Members are developed effectively and generate a culture of high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, Guests, and Team Members in order to gain full understanding of their needs and work to serve them effectively.
  • Assist in the recruiting, managing, training, and developing of the Team.
  • Participate in the organization of Kandima Maldives promotional activities.
  • A Revenue & Reservations Manager serving Kandima Maldives brand is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. Maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow to successfully fulfill this role.

  • Ensure that procedures as specified in the company’s SOPs are implemented and adhered to, All SOPs should be up-to-date and should be trained if there are any new changes.
  • Ensure the rate codes are correctly created and update in PMS
  • Maintain flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • To conduct and attend meetings
  • Works closely with Accounting Department/Mangers to facilitates customer bookings and ensure payments for all pre-paid bookings are received on time.
  • Establish and maintain good relations with accounts, travel agencies, and other booking sources

Administration Skills

  • To coordinate office activities to ensure work updates are consistently maintained and all correspondence promptly handled on the same day received.
  • To take charge of special requests and any problems that may arise within the department on a day-to-day basis.
  • To develop and maintain efficient filing system of all correspondence for easy access and retrieval.

Leadership Skills

  • Discuss a talent retention strategy with DOS.
  • Identify training opportunities internal / external and suggest to L&D manager via proper reporting channels.
  • Responsible for overall moral of the team.

Availability and Inventory Management

  • To develop and communicate strategies to optimally sell the constrained inventory of rooms.
  • Monitor rate availability and inventory available for sale in relation to expected demand versus supply of Kandima Maldives and market to ensure that the RevPar of the Resort is always maximized.
  • Monitor overselling and ensure that forced upgrades are minimized.
  • Work with Reservations department to ensure that the appropriate rates, promotions, packages, and inventory are available on all distribution channels including GDS, internet and extranet.
  • Determine and monitor the availability release policy to ensure total Resort revenue is maximized.

Yield Management

  • Devise and recommend the resort pricing strategy based on demand forecast, competitive situation and inventory availability.
  • Determine optimum length of stay restrictions to maximize revenue over time if demand exceeds supply.
  • Work with Reservation department to ensure that restrictions are applicable in all channels.

Strategy Review and Communication

  • To communicate strategy recommendations effectively and efficiently.
  • Communicate strategy to relevant departments and monitor implementation.
