Retail Manager
Job Description:
OBJECTIVE
The Retail Manager is responsible for managing all retail operations within the resort, driving revenue growth, ensuring efficient inventory control, leading the retail team, and delivering exceptional guest shopping experiences. The role requires strong commercial awareness, operational discipline, and leadership capability in a hospitality environment.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Commercial Performance
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets
- Monitor and analyse KPIs including but not limited to guest conversion ratio and revenue per occupied room.
- Implement sales strategies and promotional activities aligned with occupancy trends
- Optimize product mix to maximize revenue and profit margins
Retail Operations
- Oversee daily retail operations and ensure compliance with resort standards
- Ensure accurate POS transactions and proper cash handling procedures
- Maintain high standards of store presentation and visual merchandising
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of retail outlets
Inventory Management
- Plan and control stock levels based on seasonality and business forecast
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations
- Coordinate product ordering and replenishment with suppliers
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and supervise retail associates
- Prepare duty rosters according to business needs
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching
- Foster a motivated, sales-driven, and guest-focused team culture
Guest Experience
- Ensure personalized and professional service to all guests
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints efficiently
- Promote upselling and cross-selling while maintaining service excellence
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Prepare monthly sales and inventory reports
- Manage retail budget and control operational expenses
- Maintain documentation for audit and compliance purposes
General
- Keeping updated on changes to other areas of resort product and communicating such information to the entire Security team on an ongoing basis.
- Maintaining excellent grooming and hygiene ensuring all grooming standards are met in relation to personal grooming and uniform presentation.
- Complying with Resort Safety & Environment policies, initiatives and legislation.
- Abiding by all Workplace Health, Safety and Hygiene regulations at all times.
- Abiding by the guidelines set out in the Employee Handbook.
