Job Description:

OBJECTIVE

  • Maintain the cleanliness of guest villas / Studios, Pantries, Trollies / Tricycles in accordance with Kandima Policy and Standard.
  • Assist to maintain the condition of the villas, studio, and pantries.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be punctual on Pre-Shift meeting,
  • Always maintain high standard of personal appearance and hygiene by adhering to the Kandima Maldives Kandima Island Grooming Standards
  • Always wear the correct uniform and name tag.
  • Be punctual on Pre-Shift meeting, listen carefully, take notes, or remember those points or tasks which need to be focused during the day or on coming days.
  • Attend on the trainings which conduct during pre-shift meetings or classroom.
  • Ensure time sheet is filled timely manner.
  • Check the task sheet for any clarification and share with supervisor if there is anything to be clarified.
  • Check any item to be delivered to guest room and deliver it as per requirement.
  • Fill-up the trolley or tricycle with all required, maintain the cleanliness and arrangement throughout the shift,
  • Ensure all chemicals are labeled and all required chemicals are fully stocked in Trollies or Tricycles.
  • Ensure health & safety requirements are adhered to, including a personal knowledge of the correct usage of all chemicals used in Housekeeping.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of guest room entrance or staircases.
  • Follow the procedure of entering guest room, Refer SOP.
  • Follow service sequence at all the time.
  • Check the minibar consumption and inform attendant or coordinator for posting and refilling.
  • Check the maintenance issues and inform coordinators or supervisor
  • Ensure Guest Rooms are properly cleaned, in line with the hotel’s Standard Operating Procedures, this will include outside wall, veranda furniture, beach furniture and all around the guest rooms.
  • Ensure all the decorations (Bed & Bath) are done as per requirements.
  • Ensure VIP requirements are met
  • Ensures any special requests from guests are carried out and delivered on time exceeding guest’s expectations where possible.
  • Ensure quarterly deep cleanings are done as per schedule
  • Ensure mattress turning done as per instruction given on mattress.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and arrangement of beach furniture which belongs to villas or Studios.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and arrangement of Housekeeping Pantries and fill the check list as per requirements.
  • Inform floor supervisor and get permission before leaving the floor, other than meal and prayer break.
  • Floor supervisor’s permission will require to leave the floor, within duty hours, even though the given task is completed
  • At the end of shift, f handed over the filled task sheet, as per requirements, also inform supervisor if there is anything to be follow up.
  • Ensure that lost and found articles are handled as per SOP. Refer to Lost & Found SOP
  • Ensuring security awareness throughout the resort, reporting incidents to the supervisor or manager when noticed.
  • Report any damage or loss in a guest room immediately after being found.
  • Remove Home Delivery items from room & place in pantries
  • Report and communicate all ‘Do Not Disturbs’ with floor supervisor, timely manner.
  • Report any service delay to floor supervisor.
  • Be responsible for issued room keys and task sheet and make sure to keep them at all the time while on duty
  • To understand and accept any last-minute changes such as early arrival OR Late check-out and make sure to double check the checked-out room before guest has departed from the Resort for any guest belonging left in the room and breakages of furniture, accessories etc. If anything found should be informed to Supervisor immediately for further action.
  • Should report to supervisor any sickness, one hour prior to shift
  • Should report to supervisor any sickness or unusual behavior of guest for cascading to relevant people. (e.g., Doctor)
  • Inform supervisor, guest preferences, requests, service time etc., before taking Days Off or any other leaves
  • Master keys should be handed over in person prior to your departure.
  • Should know the return date and leave extension should be requested 3 days prior to arrive.
  • Corrective action will be taken for any extended leave without approval.
  • Have product knowledge of; restaurant and bars opening & closing hours, special events, venue locations etc.
  • To be fully familiar with the PULSE Brand Standards and the Quality Assurance Audit and to follow these standards of service as they apply to the Housekeeping Department.
  • To have a complete understanding of the Kandima Maldives Kandima Island’s Krew Members Handbook and to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Resort.
  • To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the resort’s policy relating to fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
  • If there are any comments, inquiries, or complaints from the guests, reports it immediately to Supervisor or Housekeeper
  • Minimizes wastage.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Work with other housekeeping employees in maintaining clean and organized workplace
  • Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the high demands of upcoming innovation of the industry and cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
  • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Kandima rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
