IT Assistant
Job Description:
OBJECTIVE
The IT Assistant is responsible to assist the IT Manager & Assistant IT Manager in implementing an effective, efficient and uninterrupted day-to-day operation of the Information Systems in all areas of the hotel.
To ensure an effective administration, reporting system and transfer of skills in all related areas.
To provide Technical Assistance, advice and know-how to the hotel management so as to minimize overhead expenses and maximize productivity in all areas.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- To be involved in day to day audit work on operation and to advise the Information System Manager for any abnormal happenings.
- To provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times, following Kandima Standards of Performance.
- To have a full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned Place of Work to the standard set.
- To be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sub departments of the Accounting & Finance Division or any other Department of the resort as assigned.
- To perform all duties and tasks when rotated or assigned to another Department as per established standards for that Department.
- To be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the resort.
- To assist authorized users in relation to operation of the resort’s Information System hardware, various modules and supporting personal computers
- To ensure that preventive maintenance required by any Information System equipment in the resort is carried out appropriately.
- To coordinate the timely repair and return to service of any faulty systems or items of equipment.
- To establish and implement procedures to ensure the backup of data in any Information System.
- To rebuild data corrupted by either hardware or software faults.
- To coordinate the investigation and timely handling of any software fault reports or enhancement requests.
- To provide manuals on the use of any Information System and incorporate those manuals into the relevant operating procedures of the resort.
- To arrange the distribution of Night Audit and other regularly system-produced reports.
- To establish necessary security measures to prevent unauthorized access to the Information System.
- To provide technical assistance to Internal or External Audit staff.
- To assist the Information System Manager in the continuous availability of a hierarchy to deal with an emergency in any essential Information System.
- To ensure the availability of any stationery or consumables required by any Information Systems.
- To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in the outlet and all other departments.
- To fully support the Departmental Training Function in the Department assigned.
- To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Information Systems Manager.
- To project at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self-control.
- To handle guest and employee inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests.
- To provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
