OBJECTIVE:

Operation and service in a professional, efficient and courteous manner

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consistently offer a professional, friendly greeting and engaging service.
  • Understand the Server’s tasks in the outlet.
  • Understand shift end reports in the outlet.
  • Assist guests regarding food and beverage menu items informatively and helpfully.
  • Have knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
  • Ensuring the restaurant is ready to receive guests.
  • Set tables ready in line with opening standards.
  • Ensure your wear your name-tag, be well grooming, wear a clean uniform and have personal presentation standards in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain responsibility of cleanliness of hostess station and all food and drink menu.
  • Know your product and price list.
  • Have a complete knowledge of all food & beverage menus: ingredients, the preparation, how items are served accompanied dishes, know the price, know daily special.
  • Maintain details knowledge of menus, including daily special and ensure all tables are cleared quietly and efficiently.
  • Check reservation list (VIP guest in house or any important message).
  • See that reservation signs are placed on table.
  • Answer the telephone on maximum of 3 rings, using a friendly tone and being informative.
  • Create a reservation for guests with their dinning preferences if the guests request and note clear message in the reservation sheet.
  • Ask number people in party, the timing for reservation, guests would prefer smoking or non-smoking area and ask if there is any special occasion or requirement.
  • Be attentive to guest’s request (flight, boat, activities of resort in hostess standard).
  • Approach the guests at the entrance ad welcome guests with restaurant name.
  • Check if the guests are holding any reservation. If not, request room number or non-room guest, Hostess has to update all information to reservation sheet and informed station holder guest’s profile (including any special request from guests).
  • Should recognise VIP guests, House guests or long stayed guests and welcome them by their name.
  • Walk with guests to the table, pull out the chair for ladies first and then other guests you can accommodate after.
  • Once guests are seated, hand them with menu and introduce our server who will take care of the guests. Wish them “Enjoy their lunch/dinner at “name” restaurant.
  • On departure of guests, hostess has to make contact with guests, ask them about their experiences.
