Electrician
Job Description:
OBJECTIVE
To conduct preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance so as to ensure that the resort, its amenities and facilities and equipment are maintained at all times to the highest standards. Attend to guest complaint, trouble shooting in a professional approach in Kandima standard.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

▪ Attends departmental briefings and provides feedback and highlights challenges & opportunities to Supervisors/ Managers.
▪ Attends to all types of electrical / electronic repair and maintenance work required of the resort electrical / electronic reticulation system and machinery.
▪ Completes repairs as detailed in the repairs and maintenance requests.
▪ Works within the given time frames of the project requirements.
▪ Makes list of materials needed for the repair and reports to the Section head on work to be done.
▪ Carries out all work specified in work order forms quickly, accurately, skilfully, economically, efficiently and completely.
▪ Renders overtime or changes time schedules as the situation may require without delay.
▪ Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the Superior.
▪ Make sure that all standard procedures of maintenance are adhered
▪ Updates preventive maintenance of machineries and equipment as required by the Superior.
▪ Make sure the proper illuminations in and out of the building are proper order at all times. Repairs and replaces as needed.
▪ Ensures to switch on lightings in and out of the building as set schedules.
▪ Trouble shoots electrical / electronic related problems within the Resort.
▪ Checks that all electrical / electronic system, plant room of the resort are functioning properly and safe to work with.
▪ Reports any malfunctioning of equipment immediately to supervisor for action.
▪ Immediately notify the Supervisor on duty of any unusual occurrences or observation with respect to all machinery and equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Thorough knowledge of the Resort’s facilities, department, operations and team members.
▪ Introduce quality workmanship and services.
▪ Contributes and works as a team, builds and maintains effective and efficient relationship with other departments in order to deliver the Kandima Experience and Standards.
▪ Maintains a professional and friendly attitude towards guests, colleagues, contractors.
▪ Maintains positive communication and builds rapport with other departments to provide additional & specialized guest services.
▪ Practices good personal hygiene & proper business etiquette.
▪ Consistently performs in accordance to set standards/ levels.
▪ To perform any other duties and may be assigned from time to time by the Chief Engineer.
▪ Ensure that the maintenance of Equipment and facilities of the Resort are carried out in accordance with the Standard Engineering Practice.
▪ Ensure that all work orders for his trade is carried out quickly, accurately, skilfully, economically, efficiently and completely.
▪ Make sure that all repair works done or service on each and every electrical panel and control board / electronic are properly recorded in the logbook and on the equipment record file
▪ Handles all equipment in a proper manner, Practices accident prevention by using safety equipment i.e. gloves, masks, etc.
▪ Ensure that safety and health procedures are adhered to at all times.
▪ Keeps work shop clean and tidy and free from hazards daily after shift / work.
▪ Organized disposal items safely in a timely manner.
▪ Ensure that substation area, electrical rooms, electrical panels are kept clean and orderly.
▪ Store the volatile & flammable material in proper manner according to the department procedures.
▪ Ensure good housekeeping and orderliness in his work area.
▪ Adheres to fire prevention and safety measures in working area.
▪ Possesses full knowledge of emergency procedures. Responds to Emergency Calls, as may be required.
▪ Being part of the Emergency Response Team member in the resort when the need arises.
▪ Reduce waste, supplies and materials by re-using or selling, recycle, when possible.
▪ Conserve water and energy by adhering to environmental/energy conservation checklist appropriate for his area.
▪ Participate in activities concerning the protection of the environment.
▪ To report to the Engineering Supervisor/ Duty Engineer on all colleagues and operation matters.
▪ To attend all required/ mandatory trainings to develop their skills, improve performance and guest engagement, fire and life safety, emergency procedures and Hygiene.
▪ To be aware of resort rules and Regulations as specified in the Employee Handbook and Disciplinary measures.
▪ Takes ownership to discuss and actions with Manager on areas for development and career planning.
▪ Immediately reports by informing FOM and Security and turns over lost and found articles to Housekeeping office, following required procedures at all times.
▪ Delight through constant interaction with guest, must be able to explain item of preparation when approached by guest.
▪ Attends to all guest complaints immediately and initiates/coordinates immediate resolution.
▪ Performs other duties as may be required by management from time to time.
▪ Keep updated on product knowledge of resort and related activities.
▪ Resolve guest complaints to the guest’s satisfaction within your level of authority.
▪ Maintain excellent grooming and hygiene standards in relation to personal grooming and uniform presentation.
▪ To take care and keep in good condition on own safekeeping working tools.
▪ To return in good condition the sharing working tools from workshop by log in and log out in tool’s loan book.
▪ Comply with Resort Safety & Environment policies, initiatives and legislation.
▪ Abide by all Work Place Health, Safety and Hygiene regulations at all times.
▪ Abide by the guidelines set out in the Employee Handbook.
